It is usually weather patterns and, in particular, cloud formations that inform my decision whether to take the short walk from my home across the fields and down to the coast path. Reflections and refractions of light glimpsed or diffused through myriad unique cloudscapes provide constantly changing inspiration, whilst the secrets of the sea lie unknown, or perhaps, unknowable, in the vast dark depths ‘Beneath the Surface’ – Mark Poprawski

We are thrilled to welcome new artist Amanda Blunden with a stunning collection of eight new works, all of which will be on display at the gallery and online.

They are suspended in time, hiding and waiting. The images are charged with the potential to break out and for the birds to ascend, so releasing and revealing the covered faces.

It has never been more important than now to embrace the rich diversity of people as well as the importance of looking after our planet. By gilding with precious metals, using rich complimentary colours or creating lighboxes of the roads in cities I aim to focus the viewer to this exhibition on the sacredness and diversity of the world around us.
