Amy's latest collection gracefully flows between the fluid curves of fish tails and the delicate structure of iris petals, each piece with Amy's characteristic female protagonists enveloped by the flora and fauna.
The iris and the fish tail share a fluent curve, unfolding fluidly and deliberately. The petals of the iris drift outward in soft, ruffled waves, mirroring the shimmering flare of a fin caught mid-turn. One blooms from the earth, the other from water, yet their contours echo-a shared geometry of grace and tension, of beauty poised on the edge of motion. In their mirrored forms lies a quiet kinship, delicate yet defiant.
Drawing inspiration from ancient cultural symbolism, Amy incorporates motifs of hope, strength, and good fortune. The Siamese fighting fish-emblematic of luck, prosperity, and resilience-appear alongside white irises, traditional symbols of hope and new beginnings. Each painting radiates with her evident joy of painting, from the shimmer of a pearl to the dynamic sweep of a fin.
Grounded in the timeless and often ambiguous relationship between women and nature, Amy consistently creates surreal and visually compelling works that are rich in both intrigue and elegance.
