AFFORDABLE ART FAIR, HAMPSTEAD
We will be back in (hopefully!) sunny London once again in May at The Affordable Art Fair Hampstead. From 10th – 13th May we will showing a handpicked edit from our artists including new works from Caroline Yates, Angela Edwards, Bruce McLean, Peter Blake, Bobbie Russon and Jacob Crivello
One of the major figures of contemporary British Art, Bruce McLean was born in 1944 and studied at Glasgow school of art and at St. Martin’s in London, where he was taught by Anthony Caro. From the late 1970s he has made paintings and prints in which humour remains central and his bold and confident approach to print making has proved influential to his contemporaries and also to a generation of younger artists.
Bobbie Russon creates bold and moving depictions of predominately female figures, mapping a path of loss, awkward self-awareness and developing sexuality; she communicates her excruciating shyness as a child and the acute loneliness she felt. Russon’s paintings are charged with the unspoken curiosities within the young girls that they often depict – girls on the brink of becoming adults facing impending independence, the cultivation of a personality, tastes, opinions, thoughts…
Join us on beautiful Hampstead Heath to discover a carefully curated selection of diverse and inspiring works from us and over 100 other galleries.
